Refund Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This policy explains how charges, cancellations and refunds work in MedFiles, on the website and in the iOS and Android apps. It applies to every MedFiles account that pays for a plan, and it complements section 8 (Subscriptions and Payments) of our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who processes your payment
Your payment is processed by the platform where you subscribed:
- On the website: Stripe
- In the iOS app: the Apple App Store
- In the Android app: Google Play
MedFiles does not store your card information. A refund follows the same path as the payment: MedFiles reviews requests about payments made on the website, and Apple or Google handle requests about payments made in their stores.
2. The general rule
Payments are non-refundable except as required by law. This includes renewals and the time left in a period you already paid for.
Nothing in this policy limits the rights that the laws that apply to you give you.
3. Cancel before the next renewal
Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time:
- On the website: from the subscription section of your account settings
- On iOS: from Subscriptions in your Apple Account settings
- On Android: from Subscriptions in the Google Play app
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your plan until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again. Cancelling does not refund the current period.
4. Introductory offer (website only)
When MedFiles offers it on the website, you can pay a one-time introductory charge to use a paid annual plan during an introductory period. The amount, the number of days and the price of the year that follows are shown before you pay.
If you cancel before the introductory period ends, from the subscription section of your account settings, you are not charged for the year. We send you a reminder before the annual charge. The introductory charge is non-refundable except as required by law.
5. A charge that looks wrong
If you think a charge on the website is a mistake (for example, you were charged twice for the same period, or charged after you cancelled), write to us at support@medfiles.ai. Please include the email address of your MedFiles account and the date and amount of the charge.
We review every request. If we confirm that the charge was a mistake on our side, we refund it to the original payment method. Depending on your bank, the refund may take a few business days to appear.
Before opening a dispute with your bank, please write to us so we can look at it together.
6. Purchases in the App Store or Google Play
Apple and Google process these payments and decide on refund requests under their own policies. You can request a refund here:
- App Store (Apple) https://reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google Play https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637
If a Google Play purchase cannot be activated on your MedFiles account (for example, because it is already linked to another MedFiles account), MedFiles does not confirm it, and Google Play refunds it automatically, usually within 3 days.
If Apple or Google refunds a subscription, your paid plan ends on that date.
7. Your documents when a paid plan ends
When a paid plan ends, because you cancelled or because the payment was refunded, your account moves to the free plan. Everything you saved stays in your account, and you can open and download it. Adding new documents and other features may be limited or paused, according to the limits of that plan.
8. Deleting your account
Deleting your account does not refund payments already made. When we process the deletion, subscriptions paid on the website are cancelled. Deleting your MedFiles account does not cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions: please cancel them in your device settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
